My mission is simple - to ensure you have everything you ever need to achieve the success you dream of.
We all have 24 hours available to us. Some people manage to do more with it. They use it to their advantage and can achieve amazing things. If one of your favourite sayings is 'there’s not enough time in the day', then take a look at what’s soaking up the time that you could be spending on your business. If something is taking priority over your business (such as family), then you need to own it, and not place the blame on it. If you really value something, you will make time for it.
If you’re relying on just yourself in order to get things done, you’re never going to have the time to work on your business. Being the perfect mum, wife, sister, daughter or business owner is an unachievable dream that will simply lead you to burnout. Whether it’s family, friends, babysitters, day care or your next-door neighbour, there will be times when you need to admit that you can’t do it all. Ask for help.
When you do have time to work on your business, also consider is it the best use of your time. Make sure that you’re doing the activities that have the greatest impact on your growth and success before getting caught up in spending hours on Canva or social media. Look at outsourcing if a task is outside your zone of genius or is taking up more of your time than it should.
Business is a marathon, not a sprint. In this fast faced, consumer driven society, it’s easy to get caught up in the mindset of feeling like you’ve wasted your time or not achieved enough. This couldn’t be further from the truth when it comes to business.
Sure, there are times when you need to react quickly to a change in your environment, but thinking that you should have achieved more is wasting the time that you have now! Celebrate your wins, revel in your glory and take note of all the achievements that you’ve made to get where you are, no matter how big or small.
Oh, yes you do! One of the best time management strategies is to spend time on planning so you can save time on execution. Instead of floundering and wondering what you need to do next, a business plan outlines every activity you need to do in order to reach your goals. A clear purpose is one of your best time management tools.
Do you? Or have you linked significance and purpose to everything that you ‘do’? This is a common problem and one that you need to overcome quickly to be successful. You don’t need to be the perfect everything for everybody all the time. Once you ditch this behaviour you will reset your priorities and have more time to spend on your business.
What are you avoiding? Avoidance behaviours include procrastination, not facing up to an issue, or glossing over a potential problem. This is a huge time waster! Get in and tackle the task. Upskill to become more confident if you need to or outsource so that it gets done. There is no time like the present.
The fact is, time management really is about catching yourself when you start to tell yourself these lies about time. Breaking the cycle of these limiting beliefs around time will change your mindset, perspective and directly impact the growth of your business.
